WORKFLOW
1. IMPORT ANY CAD MODEL
With PiXYZ PLUGIN, import a native CAD file (CATPart, SolidWorks, JT, STEP…) within Unity 3D or Unreal Engine.
Use PiXYZ powerful CAD import settings to obtain a ready-to-use asset: keep product hierarchy or merge objects, tessellation presets, LODs, UV creation, up-axis switch…
2. PREPARE YOUR ASSET
At import, access built-in tessellation presets to define mesh quality or create your own settings according to your optimization strategy.
Create LOD on-the-fly when tessellating your CAD model.
Automatically apply UV projection (channel 0) and UV flattening for baking (channel 1 Lightmaps) to your new mesh.
3. ENHANCE YOUR ASSET WITH ADVANCED TOOLS
Access advanced tools from the PiXYZ tab, for fine-tuning: UV re-generation and scale, change normals/faces orientation, decimation with our powerful trimming algorithm (available for PLUGIN for Unreal Engine only).
Not satisfied with a mesh? Re-tessellate it or recreate LODs on the fly (NURBS/CAD conservation).

PLUGIN WORKFLOW EXAMPLE
Here is a workflow example that shows how to easily import CAD models within Unreal Engine. And how to automatically obtain ready-to-use LOD with perfect meshes at optimum polygon count.
TESSELLATION
PiXYZ Tessellator creates high quality, low density meshes from almost any CAD model. It provides efficient and very fast tessellation, thanks to smarter organization of vertices. It results in a highly reduced and optimized number of polygons.
DECIMATION
PiXYZ trimming solution reduces the polygon density of a mesh by deleting vertices. It allows for precise control and perfect preservation of model topology, normals distortion and texture coordinates (UVW).
REPAIR FUNCTIONS
PiXYZ offers CAD and Mesh repair features, such as CAD topology correction, removal of duplicated faces/patches, face reconnection, polygon reconnection, normals/faces orientation unification, etc…
