The size of the model, the distance between the models, the intensity of the local lighting, and the texture scale of the textured material are all related to the unit of measurement: millimeters, centimeters, meters, inches, feet, and so on. In KeyShot, these units of measure are considered model units of the scene, and the model units are usually listed below the scene information window.

Change the scene unit

To change the model unit, click Edit > Set Scene Units and select Units. Note: Changing the scene unit will not adjust the size of the model in the scene. Changing the model unit via the “Edit” menu will affect the size of the environment and the ground plane, which in turn will affect the physical lighting and texture scale of some textured materials.

Navigation scene

Here's how to use the mouse to change the camera's view. Note: The mouse only moves the camera, not the model, unlike 3D modeling applications. In other words, when you use the left mouse button to rotate, the camera rotates around the model. There are three things involved here: mouse control, keyboard control, and multi-touch control. The mouse control is mainly:

1. the camera rotates

To rotate the camera, hold down the left mouse button while moving the mouse. This will change the camera's orientation and tilt.

2. camera translation

While panning the camera, hold down the middle mouse button while moving the mouse. This will change the camera's position.

3. camera movement (distance)

To move the camera, hold down the Alt key (Windows) + Mouse Mail or Option (Mac) + right mouse button while moving the mouse. This will change the distance of the camera.
