       March 24th 9 o’clock in the morning, the eighth animation game industries study cooperation forum was hold in Zhejinang Longyouguomao hotel conference room. Some people were invited, such as Yiwen Zhou, a teacher from Communication University of China, Xiaohui Cao who is teaching at Beijing Film Academy, Mr. Li who works at Beijing Chukong, Mr. Xu from Zhejiang Yunlian technology and Mr. Jia from Cogito Toon Boom. They discussed and exchanged ideas about the animation education, VR technology, etc.

Yiwen Zhou who comes from Communication University of China made a lecture that was mainly about the importance of teaching practice in the film and television education for the universities teachers who came to the forum. First, he introduced the guiding ideology of running a school of Communication University of China. That is, taking “film study” as core, developing “art study” as bond and build opening teaching style. Mr. Zhou also told that we should catch the opportunities on the subjects’ education. Enlarge the area of subjects consistently, create a multi-symbiotic, cross fusion subjects direction developing model. Take advantage of subjects complementary to start courses practices. He also emphasized that the students’ practicing skills. He hoped that the universities could bring up the skilled personnel who have practicing skills.

 

After the lecture, Mr. Zhou made an interaction and Q&A section. They discussed in-depth of the issue that how to develop and grow the China’s animation industry. When talking about the problem how students attend project practicing activities when there was only limited time, Mr. Zhou suggested that we should bring projects into course, set the course as practice and implement credit system. He also suggested that universities should combine the industries and study, which means that schools can cooperate with companies and bring companies into schools. Communication University of China will soon build virtual teaching laboratory with Cogito (Beijing) Co. Ltd. They will take the resources of Cogito animation into school, such as openstage unmarked point motion capturing system, virtual VR bird standard interaction system, Toon Boom non-paper animation software and so on, to enrich students’ extracurricular content.

 

Mr. Li who works for Beijing Shukong Future technology hold a lecture about VR’s usage and innovation in the animation education area. Mr. Xu from Zhejiang Yunlianti technology make in-depth discussions about 3D, AR Scene Technology and the needs of front-line animation personnel. Their lectures provided the cutting-edged technology information for every teacher who expressed that they learned a lot form them.

The forum continued in the morning of March 25th. In the morning, the technical engineer form Cogito animation gave people a lecture about 2D technological innovation. She analyzed the advantages of non-paper animation compared to the former paper animation. And the cooperation prospect of non-paper animation technology which national and international areas used. She also analyzed those non-paper software’s advantages and differences when making animation respectively, such as Toon Boom, Flash, Retas, Animo and TVpaint, letting everyone recognized the development of non-paper technology. Toon Boom has strong advantages, including the combination of bitmap and vector illustration, the application of texture, the application of Deformation tools, the application of 3D spaces and 3D model and the setting of powerful particle module and so on. It enhances visual arts expressive force of animation, exceeds the normal film and television art’s performance limitations, give full play to designers’ imagination and creative thinking and without the outside world’s interruption. These all shocked everyone in the forum.
