Environmental art design is a practical art integrating design by means of art design. Environmental art involves a wide range of disciplines, including architecture, urban planning, ergonomics, environmental psychology, design aesthetics, sociology, literature, history, archeology, religion, environmental ecology, environmental behavior and other disciplines.

Environmental art design deals with the spatial interface in artistic aspects(shape, color, texture etc.) through a certain organizational and enclosure means (floor, ceiling, doors and windows etc.), use of design languages like natural light, artificial lighting, furniture, the layout of accessories, modeling, as well as other accessories like plant flowers, water, sketches, sculptures, makes the space environment to show a specific atmosphere and a certain style that can meet people's functional use and visual aesthetic need.

In the past, architectural design mainly depended on the real estate residential projects, with the increasing government investment projects and public welfare, these projects that bring large-scale construction of civil projects, the booming has brought architectural art designers more space to be more creative. The government has invested in public facilities, including hospitals, airports, museums, art galleries and colleges and universities building. In fact, these large-scale projects are the key projects of government macro-control, architects get more opportunities in the field of public construction.
