Have you ever thought that debut your proud work on the international stage?

If you want all above, then please bring your most creative animation works to attend Pitch THIS! held by Ottawa International Animation Festival!

Ottawa International Animation Festival was founded by Canada Film Academy, referred to as OIAF. It is the largest and the most important animation festival in North America. It is also one of the largest animation festivals in the world.

OIAF is 40 years old till 2016. In 2016, the Pitch THIS! contest is organized by Corus and Toon Boom animation corporation. 

July 19th . 2016, OIAF declared: its long-time partner—Corus Entertainment would provide award winners an animation development deal and Toon Boom animation software in Television Animation Convention (TAC) during September 21st . 2016 and September 22nd .2016

“As the long-term support of independent production and animation, Corus and its’ sub-corporation Nelvana are glad to provide supports and guidance to the development of animation project”, Nelvana’s director Scott Dyer said so. “Many outstanding animations started from the referral. Corus Kids and Toon Boom team are looking forware to a unique and dynamic animation project very much. We would like to give them a hand and guide their development and production of animation project”.

TAC provide the rookies and experts an opportunity to build connection, and let them get in touch with the latest original animation while following the trend of industry. TAC would show the works of Pitch THIS!. The two creators who win the contest would have chances to refer their new projects to the TAC audiences.

In 2016, in order to celebrate OIAF’s 40th birthday, the winner can get a animation development deal. Besides, what’s most important, they can have a peer-to-peer chat with the tutors and get their guidance. These tutors are all fully experienced and famous experts. It is absolutely rare for those winners to have this kind of opportunities to accept the guidance of tutors like them. In 2016, there would be 10 animation projects which could be shown. And tutors would realize the fantasy imagination of the creators step by step.

This 10 animation projects would be shown in the TAC which was hold on September 21st, Wednesday. During the show, every attender had 10 minutes to claim their originalities. The experts would select two of them who are decenter than others and attend the Pitch THIS! contest held in September 22nd Thursday to show their creation. At that time, the experts in the media and all audiences in TAC would attend, and there are more than 300 potential customers and investors in those audiences! Thus, if your animation project was good and special enough, your work would be bought or invested!

OIAF’s director of industrial planning Azarin Sohrabkhani expressed that, ”in order to push the development of animation industry, OIAF and Corus Entertainment has long-term cooperation. In this special year, I’m very happy that we can cooperate with them to provide this wonderful chance. ”

Submissions include:

1. Short introduction of the animation work, including the attraction of main stories and introduction of characters.

2. Short introduction of one episode of the animation.

3. Resume of the main authors.

4. The content is for children aged 2-11 years.

5. Please note that every company cannot submit over 2 projects.

6. Accept the oversea animation project.
