OptiTrack Motion Capture Gloves
The OptiTrack glove made by Manus VR in collaboration with OptiTrack has both optical and non optical tracking. The glove primarily uses the active markers, but in case of any occlusion, the Manus sensors immediately take over to maintain an accurate capture of the hands. All the sales and distribution of this glove will be done by OptiTrack .
Motive 3
The finger data is streamed directly into Motive 3, so the user will retain all perks and feature that Motive 3 has to offer while working with the Manus OptiTrack glove. This includes all plugins or API's that Motive has to offer including Unity, Unreal and Motionbuilder.
OptiTrack
OptiTrack is an industry leading precision motion capture and 3D tracking systems for video game design, animation, virtual reality, robotics, and movement sciences.

GENERAL QUESTIONS
Are there different sizes of Manus VR Gloves?
At the moment there is one size available (medium). The high quality stretchable fabrics ensure a comfortable fit for almost any hand.
How are the Manus VR Gloves different from camera based solutions?
Optical based systems work very different from the Manus VR Gloves. These systems indirectly analyze images from a camera, our gloves measure the full pose of the hand directly on the hand itself. This makes it far less prone to error. The Manus VR Gloves do not suffer occlusion of field of view limitations. Even minor inconsitencies in what one’s hands are doing are extremely detrimental to immersion in the VR experience. Physical sensors are the only way to ensure reliable tracking of finger movement. In addition to this, an optical based system will never be able to supply haptic feedback to the degree a glove can.
What can I use the Manus VR Gloves for?
There are many different use cases for the Manus VR Gloves. A short overview:
– In VR the gloves are mostly used for training & simulation, design & collaboration and arcade gaming.
– The Manus VR Gloves are often used as an addition to motion capture set-ups and suits that don’t natively capture hand-data.
– In healthcare the Manus VR Gloves benefit the development of new rehabilitation and therapy techniques.
– The hand-data from the Manus VR Gloves can also be used to control robot and mechanical arms. Natural movement can be perfectly simulated.
How do the Manus VR Gloves work?
The Manus VR Gloves contain a unique combination of several high-tech sensors. The orientation is measured through an accelerometer, gyroscope and a magnetometer. Each finger is tracked by two sensors designed by Manus VR. Through these sensors it collects reliable, easy-to-use data on what the hand is doing at all time. A vibration motor on top of the hand can give the user haptic feedback. This data is sent with low latency (< 5ms) via a wireless RF transmitter. For the positional tracking of the hand we use the tracking systems of third-party devices such as HTC Vive, Xsens, VICON, ART and OptiTrack.
What are the Manus VR Gloves?
The Manus VR Gloves are high-end haptic datagloves. The gloves track finger and hand movement in real-time. The data that is captured can be used for a variety of purposes in VR, motion capture, healthcare and robotics.
